Haliey Welch, better known as Hawk Tuah Girl, is pretty much exclusively known for talking but has been silent for more than two weeks following the collapse of the branded memecoin $HAWK harper and row publishers. Well, Welch is back—though not in front of a mic. Instead, she’s issued a very lawyerly statement following the news that a class action lawsuit has been filed against the team responsible for $HAWK and its unceremonious but extremely predictable crash.
This has led some, including YouTube cryptocurrency investigator Coffeezilla, to accuse Ms Welch of scamming investors with a “pump and dump” – where the people behind a coin hype up its price before launch, then sell it for profit.
There has been no announcement of an investigation from the relevant authorities just yet, but if one does arise and the allegations placed against Welch and her team are true, she could be in serious trouble.

Hawk tuah girl cryptocurrency lawsuit
In the lawsuit filed Thursday against the $HAWK creators in New York District Court, investors accused overHere Ltd, its founder Clinton So, social media influencer Alez Larson Schultz and the Tuah The Moon Foundation of fraudulently selling Welch’s celebrity memecoin, per Hollywood Reporter.
“Everything changed after that interview. I’ve always been one to struggle with mental health, and I’m still struggling with it a little bit,” she said. “Your whole life’s basically online, and then people can say anything they want to you. And then you got to sit there with the thought: Oh, a lot of people just lost money because of something you did, like, you led them to.”
The internet influencer and host of the Talk Tuah podcast said that the scandal badly affected her mental health—but not as much as when she first blew up on the internet following the street interview.
“All my comments, if you read those, people are like, ‘Oh, well, I lost a lot of money in this. Now my kids have to go without stuff.’ I don’t know. It makes me feel, like, really sorry for it,” Welch explained.
